Only a few weeks after Eschal, Rutaba, Inugami and Khelani bested the incredibly powerful being known as Majin Liari. She surprised the group by sticking around with them, only this time it wasn't as an enemy, it was as an ally. She had got her fulfillment in what had seemed to be a great battle; however, little did the group know that there would be more to come in time. There had been people seen around acting strangely and always carrying a large structure on the back of their truck covered by a large sheet and wrapped in wire to secure it. Usually, there would be no reason for suspicion, afterall there WAS a festival beginning in only a few hours; however, these individuals seemed a little too protective over their structure and privacy. Regardless, the time for the Tenkaichi Tournament also arrived and a gathering of fighters was happening with Satan City. But was there a something sinister happening and using the festival as cover, or is everything just a big misunderstanding? Now is the time to see who will enter the tournament, who will prevail, and what secrets will be exposed.

One week had passed since the initial battle against Majin Liari, that week was a blur as Eschal was transported by the Human female Khelani to West Cities General hospital, during that time as his body healed and mended from his Ultimate attacks back lash, his eyes finally opened, to find a pristine clean hospital room. His body unable to move due to the restraints of a full body cast, his eyes slowly avert towards the window. Trying to remember what exactly happened, the last image he could picture was his Ultimates Comet strike set up being grabbed by Liari before erupting half the size of Satan City in the outskirts, leaving a crater where he was propelled into a boulder.
1776641588293.png
Slowly his eyes avert towards his Ray gun still in the biometric holster resting beside him, the biometric holster needing his biometric finger print and intent to unlock for it to truly work, but none the less as the door opens a nurse slowly enters, her eyes widened with surprise to see the human like man with a tail awake after being brought in severely damaged with large portion of his bones broken. Her voice breaking the awkward silence as she recollected herself,
"I'm glad you are awake. Seems you healed up nicely, now to the method of payment. Do you have Insurance?"
Eschal confused by the logic of something called insurance, couldn't help but respond in kind,
"The Hell is insurance?"
His words which drove surprise as the Nurse quickly rushed out of the room talking about how she needs to get the doctor and security alerting Eschal of the predicament he was in. With energy mustering in his body, and by his surprise the body cast erupted and split apart from his body. Though he wasn't in his uniform due to it likely being heavily damaged, he stood in his undergarments a pair of boxer briefs as he grabbed his gun holster and leaped out the window, propelling himself through the air. Wind rushing past his face as he moved faster than normal till it dawned on him, he had gotten far stronger from that fight, stronger than anything he thought was possible.

His speed rapid and accelerating he quickly descended behind a house, where a pair of brown joggers, a black t shirt, socks and black sneakers were out hanging. Taking it upon himself he took the clothing, puncturing a hole in the pants before getting dressed as his tail slipped out the hole in the back.
Eschal Civilian clothes.png
Putting the holster of his ray gun to the pants, it clipped onto it as he slid his hands into his pockets walking out from the homesteads backyard towards the street as he suppressed his new found strength where something would catch his eyes. Posters and vehicles moving, talking about some sort of martial arts tournament. Unaware as he was walking down the street, a black haired woman walked past him in a blue hoody, jeans and white sneakers. A brief grazing of shoulders which to most was nothing even to Eschals lack of understanding romance meant nothing, but the woman felt a connection, his arms were lean but tough with a fine tone muscular structure. The way his silver bangs resembled the silver star in the sky a week ago, she was about to say something but stopped herself the moment her Idol group companion messaged her asking why she was running late, that they needed to rehearse for the Tenkaichi tournament openning ceremony. As such the mysterious young woman went about her day, leaving Eschal to look at the posters contemplating to himself, would it be possible to get stronger if strong individuals were to participate, would he witness an influx of Saiyans, or would he have a rematch with Liari. These possibilities were all but what he needed as a small smirk appeared on his face.

Khelani spent the next week after the battle with the Majin, shopping and keeping up with the latest music and trying to stay up to date about the information regarding the Tenkaichi Festival. She had just gotten her new outfit and was currently heading towards the World's Martial Arts Arena to begin signup. She didn't really know where to go as she was new to the entire area, so she was getting around by asking around and following a bunch of people to different places. In fact, Khelani has been walking around for hours; Honestly enjoying everywhere she had visited on the way. However, she stopped at a poster with a girl group on it named B-Komachi featuring 2 gorgeous Idol women; One's names was Ai and the others name was Jiwoo. Apparently, they were performing at the Tenkaichi Arena before the actual tournament began and there was a picture of the arena in the poster as well. As such, Khelani flew high into the sky looking around for the place she had set out to find to begin with before all the distractions.

Eventually she spotted it only being about a block or 3 down the street, though as she got closer and closer; The line just to get inside was already wrapping around the entire establishment. Most seemed to be getting something for entry as they all walked into the stands afterwards, however there was another line which lead to a gathering where people were hitting something that generated numbers after being struck.
Khelani: That must be where I have to go for entry. Perfect!

With that, she flew down to the where the line seemed to end and got inside of it to follow the others who were heading in. She had no idea what kind of people she'd run into there but was very curious regardless.
Khelani: I wonder will they be here as well? This seems like it's going to be fun, I wish Lotren was here.

Rutaba stood on the edge of a tall building, small shoes planted near the ledge as wind rushed past him. Below, West City stretched out endlessly — bright lights, moving cars, and the constant hum of people going about their lives. His tail swayed slowly behind him as he took it all in.

“…Woah…”

He leaned forward a little, almost like he might jump, then caught himself at the last second. His fingers flexed at his sides. No explosions shaking the ground. No crushing pressure in the air. No one trying to smash him into the ground. Just… normal stuff happening down there. “…Feels kinda weird,” he muttered.

For a moment he closed his eyes. The city noise softened in his head, replaced by flashes of the last fight — that overwhelming blur he couldn’t track, the crushing impact, and the feeling of being knocked out cold. His small hands curled slightly as the memories passed through him.

Then his eyes snapped open.

“…I definitely got stronger than I was before.”

His tail flicked once, sharper this time. He stepped back from the ledge and rolled his shoulders, loosening up. A faint flicker of blue ki sparked around him — smaller than before, but denser and steadier, no longer spilling out wildly. It pulsed once… then settled close to his skin.

He stared out over West City again, but now his gaze was different. Sharper. Focused. Searching.

“…And next time… I’ll do even better.”

Without another word, Rutaba dropped into a crouch and vanished from the rooftop in a burst of speed. A moment later he caught himself mid-air and leveled out into smooth flight just above the streets. Lights blurred beneath him as he weaved between skyscrapers, his movement lighter and more controlled than ever.

His eyes flicked from place to place — not hunting for danger this time, but for something else.

A smell… Warm. Strong. Really good.

“…Food.”

His stomach growled loudly, breaking his serious expression as a big grin spread across his face. The tension from the battle melted away, replaced by simple, familiar hunger. He tilted forward, speeding up as he followed the scent trail through the city, passing glowing signs and rooftops far below.

“Okay… this way,” he muttered to himself, locking onto it.

He shot forward through the sky, weaving between buildings with growing confidence. Whatever he had been chasing before — strength, battle, power — could wait for now.

Right now, his next target was simple.

Something to eat.

The midday sun blazed over the outskirts of the World Martial Arts Tournament grounds, its golden light reflecting off the polished tiles and fluttering festival banners that lined the horizon. In the distance, a low mechanical rumble began to break through the festive noise. A massive, matte-black transport truck bearing the unmistakable crimson insignia of the Red Ribbon Army crept along the winding road. Unlike the colorful caravans of performers and vendors arriving for the Tenkaichi Festival, this vehicle carried an ominous presence, its purpose far removed from celebration. Inside the cab, two uniformed soldiers sat in tense silence. Their expressions were hardened, eyes hidden behind tinted visors as they followed a precise route mapped out ahead of time. The driver’s gloved hands gripped the wheel tightly, knuckles faintly whitening beneath the fabric as he navigated the narrow approach road. Behind them, faint metallic creaks echoed intermittently, reminding both men of the unusual cargo they were transporting; something neither had been fully briefed on, but both instinctively understood was dangerous. Strapped to the flatbed trailer was a large structure that immediately drew attention, but it was covered by a large sheet and it was secured by multiple heavy-duty restraints. Occasionally, a flicker of electricity danced across its surface, accompanied by a low, almost inaudible hum that suggested immense power contained within.

As the truck approached the outer gates of the tournament arena, the festive atmosphere intensified. Crowds of martial artists, tourists, and vendors filled the area, their laughter and chatter creating a stark contrast to the grim procession slipping through unnoticed. The Red Ribbon soldiers had timed their arrival perfectly; amid the chaos of preparation, their presence blended into the background just enough to avoid suspicion. A brief exchange with disguised operatives at a checkpoint allowed the truck to pass without inspection, the guards none the wiser to what lay behind the reinforced panels. The vehicle veered away from the main arena entrance, instead following a narrow service path that curved around the back of the massive stadium. Here, the noise of the festival dulled into a distant murmur, replaced by the hum of generators and the occasional clang of maintenance work. Tall concrete walls cast long shadows over the secluded loading zone, creating an atmosphere thick with secrecy. The truck rolled to a slow, deliberate stop, its engine idling for a moment before shutting off with a final, heavy sigh. Within seconds, several Red Ribbon workers emerged from concealed compartments and nearby structures, their movements swift and coordinated. Clad in dark utility uniforms, they wasted no time securing the perimeter. One soldier scanned the area with a handheld device, ensuring no unauthorized individuals were nearby, while others began preparing the unloading equipment.

The rear locks of the trailer released with a sharp metallic snap, followed by the hiss of hydraulic systems activating. A reinforced ramp lowered slowly to the ground, groaning under the weight of the structure it was about to support. Workers attached mechanized supports to the base of the cage, their tools sparking briefly as they interfaced with its strange energy field.

With a synchronized effort, the crew began lowering the structure from the truck. The machinery strained under its weight, cables tightening as the structure descended inch by inch. The faint glow from within intensified for a brief moment, casting long, distorted shadows across the concrete walls. One worker hesitated, glancing nervously at the cage as a low pulse of energy rippled through it, but a sharp command from a superior snapped him back to focus. Once grounded, the team quickly moved to stabilize the structure. Thick cables were uncoiled and connected to various ports along the cage’s surface. Some were plugged into industrial outlets embedded in the arena’s infrastructure, while others remained linked to generators still mounted on the truck. As each connection was secured, the cage emitted a deeper, more consistent hum, its internal energy stabilizing into a steady, ominous rhythm. The operation concluded with a final systems check. Lights along the cage flickered, then locked into a steady glow, illuminating the surrounding area with an unnatural hue. The Red Ribbon workers stepped back, their task complete, but none lingered longer than necessary. Even among trained soldiers, there was an unspoken understanding; whatever was contained within that structure was not meant to be disturbed. As the distant cheers of the Tenkaichi Festival echoed through the arena, the cage stood silently in the shadows, waiting.

14 year old Inugami.png

Inugami sat on a rock meditating in the middle of the forest, connecting with Mother Nature and feeling slightly homesick from living with the Eternal Phoenix, whom he began calling Sunscar from the scar-like wound it has on its chest after taking him in. The two would spend days on training, bonding, becoming student and teacher, but Inugami began to see it as something akin to a parental figure since his parents and village people were taken those years ago. He would feel the power of the phoenix coursing through him, an ember growing within him, steadily and intensely, a power he was entrusted with to see whether he was worthy to inherit the knowledge and responsibility that comes with it "Man, I've looked everywhere for that Majin Liari but haven't sensed or caught any sight of her but the others" he frowns with his eyes closed "They all went off somewhere to lick their wounds, maybe they are enjoying this time of peace like I am" he says to himself before opening his eyes, standing up on top the rock before slowly levitating upwards then takes off towards West City, hopefully to find some new weapons he can purchase with the bounty he got during the week of recuporating from the battle "Maybe they have a Bo-staff on sale" he mumbles to himself.

Outskirt of West City
Inugami flew fast from the forest he was hiding in towards the city, taking a long while to reach his destination, but when he saw the beautiful buildings in the distance, he slowed down and dropped down to the ground, beginning to walk towards West City while humming a soft tune to himself, and waving towards passerby "I never eaten city food, wonder how that it is"

A loss or a win, Liari had gotten what she had came for that day, a rare event indeed for one as powerful as she. it just goes to show, it seems, that patience DID have it's rewards... and besides, there was no reason to kill them all... not yet. Some of them had grown quite strong since their fight, becoming something closer to rivals than toys. Others were still only slightly tougher playthings, stuff she could exert herself tossing around a little more.

To say they were "allies" wouldn't quite cover the dynamic. She didn't look upon any of them as anything more than conveniences to be exploited when she pleased.

For now, though, the Majin had kept well away from the others after that day. As fun as they were, there was such a thing as "enough" in her books and so, chose to explore the city. Taking her time, Liari would hop from roof-to-roof of South City buildings, watching the traffic laze by, the people shuffle about like ants in a colony, listen to the door-bells ring as they opened and shut behind customers. By all metrics and measurements, it was quite a slow, peaceful day.

"Booooooriiiiiiiiiiing...~!" Liari sighed. She dropped from a standing position to sitting at the edge of a skyscraper, her feet dangling off the edge. Oh, how tempted she was to start messing things up here like she had in Satan, draw out some fighters perhaps local to this place to swap hands or something. It wouldn't take much, just a flick of a finger to flatten the street below. She could do it.. It would be SOOOOOO easy... Just one little justification an-

"Naaaaah...." She yawned, shaking the thought from her head. "Did that already..." Her eyes flicking around, they eventually settled upon a unique structure in the distance, the symbol of the Marital Arts Tournament emblazoned upon it. Liari's expression drooped lazily, her lids half-closed with lazy decision. She didn't really sense anything in that direction... but, honestly, it couldn't POSSIBLY be any more boring over there than it was here, could it? Letting out another yawn, the Majin would leisurely float off in the direction of the arena grounds.

Were she not stopped or otherwise diverted from her path, Liari would overlook the arena at large. It seemed like a lot of hullabalu was going on down below. People were scattered throughout the area, chattering and preparing, some even looking like they thought they were fighters, even! That got a little smile out of the Majin, how funny some of these people could be, thinking they could fight. Among all the buzz and, generally, lack of power level, Liari failed to notice the presence of the Red Ribbons doing whatever they were doing in the outskirts of the grounds. There was simply too much happening elsewhere for a few trucks to capture her notice for more than a few seconds.

Instead of focusing upon THEM... Liari started musing about how to get into the tournament... WITHOUT causing a scene. She already wore the EVIL VILLAIN hat already so why not just a genuine participant in this little event? Who knows? It might be fun!

Decending gracefully Liari would set herself down somewhere near the entrance, Liari began wandering around, looking for ANYWHERE that looked like a signup desk, taking special care that, when she nudged people out of her way, it was just that... a nudge... and not, say, lobbing them so far out of her way, they went over the horizon-line. She wanted to be low-key this time... and why not? It would ruin her grand appearance if it happened too soon.

Enjoy while you read

The sky above her was clear. Too clear. An endless stretch of blue, The light poured down freely, soft and warm in a way that felt wrong. Veylora stood still, letting it shine over her. It wasn’t the shine that bothered her it was the piercing brightness. Then a slow breath left her lips.

“So… this is Earth, huh?” Her voice echoed lightly, but there was a faint edge to it. Her eyes squinting as she looked out across the valley. “What a pitiful name for a planet. Might as well have called it Planet Dirt.” Her foot shifted forward , nudging a loose stone that lay on the ground, The motion was casual, almost absentminded, until it wasn’t. With a slight increase in power, the rock shot forward and vanished from sight. A second later, the impact cracked through the distance as it slammed into the mountainside, splitting stone and sending debris cascading down. The echo rolled back through the valley before fading. She didn’t bother looking.

1776803026956.png

Her attention had already moved on. She drew in another breath, slower this time. The air moved cleanly, without resistance. No corruption, no pressure, no lingering weight of power woven into it. Just wind, pure and unfiltered. It should have felt refreshing. yet to her It didn’t. Her gaze lifted slightly, following the way the light touched everything without hesitation. The ground beneath her felt stable, almost too stable. No hidden tension, no underlying force waiting to surface. Everything about this place felt untouched, pure even.

1776803557799.png

She didn’t like it. There was no struggle here, no presence pushing back, no sense of something greater looming just out of reach. It felt empty, not in life, but in something deeper, like something that should have been here was gone. Something important. Veylora exhaled quietly, her fingers flexing once at her side. “…There are strong people here, I best be careful....” her voice soft, yet sooth

She didn't hide her presence either, anyone with the ability to sense any form of energy would soon be able to locate her.

Her eyes scanned the horizon again, slower now, more deliberate. If something had existed here before, something strong enough to leave an impression like this, then it hadn’t simply disappeared without reason, she wanted to investigate

...And something did locate her.

Liari had found herself at the back of a VERY LONG LINE of people signing up for the tournament. Either some people were cutting (it was hard to tell from back here) or were trying a LITTLE too hard to figure out signing their name on a register because this line WASN'T MOVING! Impatience was setting in faster by the second and, for a second, Liari was having a very hard time trying to find reasons NOT to start throwing people around. At this point, she was being nice simply for the sake of it, letting these literate meatheads do things at their own pace... and she was starting to get bored with that-

"Huh?" Instantly, a new power touched the Majin's senses. NEW... and alluring. It was almost familiar, this ki, akin to a kind of aftertaste one couldn't quite put their finger on. The power itself was different than those chumps she beat up before but... what was this feeling that she'd FELT it before...? Taking a look back at the line and seeing that it was gonna be busy working itself out for some time yet, Liari rose up into the air and BLASTED OFF in the direction of this new energy!

With her speed, the relatively minor distance between Papaya Island and the Southern Archipelago was crossed in a matter of moments, the Majin having to stop to narrow in on that power... It was closer now, more vibrant than it had been at a distance... The Majin narrowed her eyes, smacking her lips in thought as she tried, once again to place this feeling... It was as if her memory had been distorted at some point, fragments of familiarity being all that remained of whatever this power was! She was SURE she hadn't felt it before... She woulda remembered something like this but... then... Why...?

"Stoppit..." She mumbled, rapping her knuckles against the side of her head. "You're thinking too much."

Liari would trace the power to a small valley just outside of South City, the Majin spotting a woman... of a very distinct nature surveying the surroundings: The beacon that was this mysteriously familiar power.

Liari would lower herself to the ground before the stranger, smirk wide across her lips... only for her expression to fall into shock as she got a better look at the person before her: Flawless purple skin, stabbing red eyes that implied constant probing, constant plotting, a style that suggested regality or, perhaps, a very keen sense of fashion much darker than those normally displayed on Earth, pointed ears that pointed diagonally backward and up, indicating she was no odd mutation of an Earthling. Whatever passed for a heart in Liari's chest THUDDED audibly in her ears as a warm rush flashed across her cheeks. Liari's eyes blinked rapidly and her jaw had dropped, utterly dumbfounded by the stranger before her. Never once in her life had Liari ever observed such beauty, such dark majesty before her... A demon, Liari thought they were called, otherworldly creatures of a magical nature not unlike her own... Majin were said to have come from the same place as these beings... but how can that be when this demon was such a specimin?

"Uh... I.... You..." Liari stammered almost half-consciously, unable to find the words to begin a sentence, much less string them together to form one. "Sensed you... You... I..." It was just now that she realized how utterly foolish she sounded. Focusing her mind away from the magnificence of the demon, Liari would, instead, try to address her properly... as much so as someone like she could be addressed so.

"Hiya..." She smiled a bit sheepishly, a dark purple blush spreading across her face. "I... uh... am Majin Liari."

Veylora didn’t turn right away. She’d already felt the approach long before Liari dropped into the valley. The energy was loud, messy… but not weak. It carried something familiar, in a way she couldn’t quite place. Not enough to recognize. Just enough to be cautious, she let the thought linger for a moment.

Then she shifted, slow and deliberate. Crimson eyes slid toward Liari, settling on her without any rush. She didn’t say anything at first. Just looked. Took her in. The way she stood, the way her energy moved, the way she clearly hadn’t expected… this, the silence stretched just long enough to make it uncomfortable, a slight tilt of her head.

“You flew all this way just to forget how to speak?”

There was the faintest curve at her lips. Not cruel. Not warm. Just… entertained, her gaze moved over Liari again, slower this time. The stammering, the hesitation, the very obvious flush creeping across her face. Veylora noticed it. Of course she did and she didn’t look away.

“Majin…” she murmured, almost under her breath. “So that’s what you are.”

Her eyes narrowed just slightly, more curious now than dismissive. That feeling again. Close. Too close to ignore.

“Your energy is familiar,” she added, quieter this time. “Was you created in the Demon Realm?”

She took a small step forward. Not aggressive. Not cautious. Just enough to close the space a little, Liari’s reaction didn’t go unnoticed, If anything, it made that faint smirk return, just a little more defined this time.

“And yet here you are…” her voice dipped slightly, almost thoughtful. “Staring. Stammering.”

A brief pause. Her eyes flicked over Liari’s expression again, catching the blush, the way she couldn’t quite hold it together.

“…blushing.”
1776971118226.png

There was something almost amused in the way she said it now. not mocking. Not entirely, just aware, Veylora held her gaze, steady, unhurried.

“Is that how Majin greet someone they’re interested in?”

A quiet giggle soon escaped her lips

This lady was NOT making it easy for the Majin to recover her composure. Not ONLY did she take her time turning to face her (giving the Majin all the time in the world to get a full view of the demon before her), but her voice, the way she spoke it and the tone it carried... It tickled something in the Majin's chest she didn't even KNOW was there. She commented on Liari's apparent muteness and that only caused Liari to blush more, the tingle inside becoming a clutch that pulled the air almost out of her lungs!

Light headed...

Weak...

Thoughts coming slowly, if at all...

Never ONCE had Liari ever felt like this. Amusement, frustration, anger, HUNGER, these things she knew but... THIS!? It almost made her afraid how new and STRONG this feeling was. her eyes flicked downward and to the side for a moment, frustrated that she was finding it hard to lock eyes with the stranger... The world felt tilted, the Majin felt hot, embarassment mixing with this new feeling as she looked everywhere... before settling on the amused smile of the woman before her. Slowly, steadily, her gaze would creep up the woman's face before settling on her eyes, a cloud of smoke inadvertently FUMING out of the holes lining her arms.

The confidence, the casual control in those eyes as if she were twirling the universe between her fingers like a pencil... She couldn't even.... She couldn't...

The Majin almost didn't process the woman's words, so focused as she was on the SOUND of her voice. It took a second. She blinked, refocusing for a fraction of a second, realizing what she was asked.

"...Yes..." She said after a moment. In truth, Liari didn't remember. She had been around so long, slept so long, trying to recall her TRUE origin was like trying to recall breakfast on Tuesday a hundred years ago. She simply said what SHE thought made sense... or, rather, what sounded agreeable to the lady before her. It was then that the demon would step forward, closing the distance a bit as gracefully and easily as anything. Liari froze, unexpected EXCITEMENT flaring up inside as a few inches between them were crossed. Her heart SLAMMED into her ears now, Liari overwhelmed at the sight and proximity of the stranger. It wasn't strength. It wasn't the feeling of her ki... it was something invisible that wrenched control from anything that could be remotely compared to logic in the Majin's mind. A small part of her mistrusted this feeling, thought it was some kind of manipulation, a trick! These emotions flooded her so suddenly and so strongly, how could it be anything else?

...But then the woman spoke again... remarking on the ever-growing blush... and all other voices seemed pointless.

"...Y-yeah, well..."
Liari dared to speak... or should I say whisper, the words barely audible over. Steam was now consistently flowing from the holes lining Liari, little trails of hot white spiraling off into the sky. Oh, she was hopeless... She was ENTRANCED! Magic or no, this woman had won EVERY fight Liari could ever imagine without throwing a punch...

...And she was just about okay with that.

"I..."

A sharp *FEWM* EXPLODED from Liari as geysers of steam flared fresh, the sound of her giggle just about knocking the Majin on her rear! Her blush flared, Liari shimmied anxiously, uncertainly, heart beating deafeningly in her chest. Logic was gone, choices seemed to flow into one another, confidence giving way to fear of risk, as if she were afraid a single wrong word could bring this magical dream to an end!

"Maybe..." She said, more loudly, perhaps even with a bit of confidence! Something had taken charge in Liari's mind, the hungry part, the interested part, the part that sought amusement... only this new feeling was at the wheel now... and it's grip was IRON. "...Can you blame me...? You're magnificent..."

And almost instantly, Liari was almost torn in two... Literally. One half SCREAMED in fear over such BOLDNESS! WHAT HAD SHE DONE!? WHAT IF SHE REACTED POORLY!?

The other side grinned internally like a cheshire cat. It was starting to LIKE this exchange. She wanted to see what came NEXT, where it would all lead.

Had she felt ANY MORE STRONGLY, the demon might've faced TWO DIFFERENT Majin instead of one, uncertainty and boldness so at odds within Liari.

Rutaba shot through the sky, weaving between buildings as the scent grew stronger with every second. His nose twitched and his eyes lit up as he followed it down toward a busy street lined with small food stands and restaurants. He slowed just enough to drop onto the edge of a rooftop, crouching low as he scanned below.

There.

Without hesitation, he hopped down and landed lightly near a food stand. The smell hit him fully now — hot, fresh, and impossible to ignore. His stomach growled loudly, and his grin stretched wide as he grabbed something to eat and tore into it fast, like he hadn’t eaten in days.

“Mmm, this is good!” he mumbled through a mouthful, finishing the last bite quicker than he meant to. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, energy already picking back up. The satisfied feeling didn’t slow him down — it sharpened him. His tail flicked once as he looked around, then up.

“Alright…”

With a small hop, Rutaba launched himself back into the air, rising above the city again. This time he didn’t rush off. Instead, he hovered in place, rolling his shoulders as his stance shifted naturally.

Then he started moving.

A quick jab. Another. A fast step-in with a kick. He twisted mid-air, following through with a spinning strike, then pulled back into guard. His movements were rough but faster than before, more controlled. He shadow-boxed in the open sky, throwing combinations and correcting himself as he went.

“Too slow…”

He moved again, faster this time. Punch, kick, spin, guard. His blue ki flickered faintly around him, steady and close, reacting to each movement instead of bursting out wildly. He kept pushing, refining each strike bit by bit.

“…World Martial Arts Tournament…” he muttered, a grin forming again.

His eyes lit up.

“I’m gonna fight strong people there.”

That thought alone made his energy spike with excitement. He threw another combination, sharper and cleaner this time.

“I can’t wait.”

He stopped suddenly, hovering in place as his grin widened into something eager and wild.

“…I’m definitely entering.”

Without another word, Rutaba tilted forward and burst into motion again, flying out of West City at high speed. The buildings thinned beneath him, replaced by open land as he pushed farther out.

After a pleasant flight, he slowed and descended into a wide valley just outside South City. He hovered for a moment, looking over the quiet, empty space — perfect for training.

“Yeah…”

Rutaba dropped down and landed lightly on the dirt, rolling his shoulders as he got ready. Training wasn’t over. Not even close.

He dropped into a fighting stance and launched straight into his Meteor Smash Rush — flying knee first like a comet, followed by a double-fisted hammer blow, a spinning kick, and a powerful stomping axe kick that sent a shockwave cracking through the ground. Dust flew everywhere as he skidded to a stop, breathing hard but grinning.

Not satisfied, he cupped his hands at his side and began charging.

“SAVAGE… CANNON… HAAAAA!!”

A thick blue beam roared forward from his palms, edges crackling with wild orange-red sparks. The beam drilled through the air before exploding against a distant boulder in a fiery blue-orange blast. The recoil made him slide back a step, but he shook it off quickly.

He tried the Bomba Fireball next, mimicking the same wide stance. Blue ki swirled between his palms, growing thicker with messy orange-red sparks. He pushed harder, focusing until the energy tightened just a little more with each attempt.

Rutaba kept going, repeating each move again and again — adjusting his footing, tightening his ki control, and pushing himself to make every technique sharper than before. The valley echoed with the sounds of his training as the sun climbed higher.

Eventually he stopped.

“…Whew…”

He dropped back onto the ground and flopped onto his back, staring up at the sky as he caught his breath. His chest rose and fell steadily, small bits of dust settling around him as his tail twitched lazily against the dirt.

“…That’s better…”

For a moment he just lay there, letting the quiet settle in.

Then—

His eyes shifted.

A presence.

No… two.

Rutaba sat up quickly, his expression sharpening as he turned his head toward the edge of the valley. His senses locked in on that familiar energy.

His grin slowly came back.

He pushed himself to his feet, brushing dirt off his clothes as his tail lifted behind him.

“Hey!” he called out loudly, raising a hand without hesitation.

His eyes locked onto the familiar blue figure.

“Blue lady!”

Then his gaze shifted to the other figure beside her, curiosity sparking instantly.

“Who’s your friend?”

His grin widened, sharp and excited.

“…Is she strong like you?”

14 year old Inugami.png

As he walked into the city, Inugami smelled a mixture of waste, industry, and artificial scents, not the natural smell of villages, which were dominated by the scent of Mother Nature and rural life. As he walked through the big city, Inugami took notice of the people walking on the sidewalks, while others used vehicles to get where they were going. Such a busy place where so many lost souls come to live their lives while disconnecting from the planet that has given them life, shaking his head and ridding of the thoughts he held, he wasn't here to judge these people, he came here to grab a bite and buy some weapons which he did find when he stumbles on weapon shop that serves weapons of different variety which he quickly took interest in "Interesting, they got a lot of good stuff here" he went about scouring the store before seeing a Bo-staff propt on the wall "Hey mister, how much is that?" he asks the elderly man who was looking at book with a cheeky grin and blush across his stupid face but hearing the boy drawin his attention.

He places the book down and looks at him, "That is thirty-four yen." That response alone made Inugami nod upon hearing that, but he reluctantly grabbed the pouch from his pocket and saw a few kunai and shurikens out of the corner of his eyes. "oh?" he looked in awe, seeing more tools on display costing twenty yen and ten yen, but when he checked out the Katana on a counter costed three thousand yen, which made him wince more then grab each tool with careful gentleness before laying it in front of the cashier who scanned it before rounding up the total "That is three hundred and thirty four yen, young man" he said, Inugami grabs the money from his pouch, paying the man then left after placing the tools on his person but find a paper that said on the front page in bold "Hmm World Martial Arts Tournament, i will definately attend this” placing the paper in his pocket.

Inugami would continue his wandering through the city, feeling the familiar rumble of his stomach signaling his deep hunger. "Now something to eat, where sh-" feeling a presence so foreign, different, intoxicating, but still unknown, yet he didn't want to investigate on an empty stomach. "Well, best find a food spot quickly," he then looks around before spotting a place called Dragon's Breath Kitchen. "Now this looks promising," he says before going inside and sat on a chair, looking at the menu before ordering, "I would like a Kaio-Ken Red Broth and Capsule Corp Gyoza Bombs" he calls to the man serving the food up front, hearing his order, then nods before going into the kitchen yelling the order out to the chef. After waiting seven to fifteen minutes, his meal was brought over to him. The smell of spice made his mouth water and his stomach grumble louder. "Thank you good sir," paying for his meal before grabbing the chopsticks located to the left of him, but clapped his hands together in a prayer that lasted about fifteen seconds before going to town on his meal, something he described as heavenly.
In contrast, others looked green at the sight of the bowl. Still, Inugami did not pay any mind as he scarfed down the spicy ramen for a solid five minutes of pure ecstasy and moaning with delight before placing the bowl down, releasing a loud belch that got the attention of everyone around him. Still, he paid no mind as he took the dumplings that came with his ramen, walked out of the restaurant, and took off to the sky, his orange ki blazing bright as he flew towards the location he had sensed this presence while munching on the dumplings with a look of joy.

Veylora watched Liari come apart right in front of her.

At first it had been small things. A pause, a stumble. Nothing worth paying attention to. But now… it was obvious. The way her voice kept catching, the way her body reacted before she could stop it, the heat rolling off her like she couldn’t contain it. There was no control in it at alla and Veylora didn’t look away, her smirk didn’t grow, it just stayed there, settled. Comfortable. She let Liari talk, didn’t cut her off, didn’t help her out of it either. Just let it happen. Watched her push through it.

1777043137980.png
A visual representation of what it'd be like to try sensing Veylora

That last word made her pause.

“Magnificent.”

1777043350749.png
She said it quieter, like she was trying it out, her palm resting on the side of her face, her eyes stayed on Liari a little longer than before. No embarrassment. No surprise. Just a faint, quiet approval, the kind you don’t say out loud.

“Bold.”

She stepped forward again, just a little. Enough to close the gap without touching. Enough to make it noticeable.

“You could barely get a sentence out a second ago,” she said, calm as ever. “Now you’re saying things like that.”

A soft breath left her, almost a laugh.
1777042713153.png
“…Interesting.”

Her gaze dipped for a moment, catching the steam slipping off Liari, the way she couldn’t quite stand still, then lifted again.

“You’re not being pushed,” she added, a bit quieter now. “No tricks. No influence.”

A slight tilt of her head.

“That’s just you.”

For a second, it almost sounded reassuring. then came a voice.

Veylora’s eyes shifted first, sliding past Liari toward it. Another presence. Different from hers. Louder, in a simpler way. She didn’t react much, just turned her head enough to get a look at him, taking in what she needed in a glance.
1777042882543.png
Then her attention drifted back to Liari like nothing had really changed.

“…You bring people with you,” she said, more to herself than anything, a small pause.

“…or is that just how things are here?”

On the bright side, her compliment did NOT immediately destroy whatever good-will was being fostered between Liari and Veylora. If anything, the Majin had managed to please the demon, she resting her hand upon her cheek, leaning her face into her palm in a gesture Liari could ONLY describe as one of the cutest little gestures she'd ever seen. For the first time since this exchange, Liari would afford herself a small smile, one that would grow a little bit larger as Veylora suggested a single word to describe that moment in time:

Bold.

Liari felt her heart swell, her anxious side beginning to quiet at such acknowledgement. It wasn't exactly a declaration of approval... but, in all honesty, Liari was just happy she didn't run off such a gorgeous individual with her stuttering and stammering! Veylora would acknowledge this, remarking how it was only just a moment ago Liari could barely say SINGLE WORDS in her presence and here she was now, giving compliments out like that! The Demoness would then step forward, closing the rest of the distance that separated them to the point that there was merely a fragment between them, personal space starting to mingle with personal space. Liari blushed, gaze flicking away for a moment... but only a moment, reconnecting with Veylora's cool red eyes... Just their gazes meeting sent a tingle up the Majin's spine, their proximity seeming to steal her breath away.

"...You don't do this to everyone wherever you go...?" The Majin asked, her voice nearly a whisper, that bold side taking charge again. "I can't help myself..."

The woman would seem to observe Liari closely, that cool, calculating gaze never quite leaving her eyes as she processed what Liari had said. She spoke almost like a scientist observing interesting test results, musing how... there were no obvious signs of control, that this all came from the Majin's heart. Liari blinked at this, refocusing. Even love-dumb and fuzzy on the inside, the implications in that didn't go over her head. ...Was she used to meaningless flattery or... were people FORCED to say these things to her on behalf of someone else...? Did she just not expect anyone to compliment her like that? But how can that be!? Just... JUST LOOK AT HER!

Liari couldn't help but oggle for a moment before snapping out of it, her eyes once again locking on to Veylora, a pink glow starting to flare over her irises... The warmth, the gentleness, the intensity implied everything she needed to know about what THAT might mean. As if by instinct, Liari would raise a hand, the beginning of a motion to close the fractional distance between them. Was it to, perhaps, offer her a handshake for the first proper greeting, perhaps to draw her in so that not a bit of distance remained between them... Perhaps simply to touch her, to know her in a way only instinct truly could...

We would never find out because Liari would SNAP STILL as a very familiar power began ROCKETING In their direction.

"Oh, no..... Not the squirt... Not noooooow..." Liari whined, slouching in visual disgust. WHY did he have to show up NOW of all times!? With his appearance, the warm, fuzzy gravy-train Liari had been on JERKED to a halt, derailed and CRASHED off the tracks, leaving her feeling disoriented and uncomforable in a way only an older sibling might when a younger one unknowingly interupted a moment!

As Rutaba called for them, Veylora would comment how she brought someone... and asked if that's how it was.

"No..." Liari grumbled. "...That kid does whatever he wants..." Liari would turn to face Rutaba and, to his credit, Liari's eyes would widen at his IMMENSE growth in power! Before, he had been nothing more than a toy to be beaten around, a little mouse for much bigger cats to play with. Now...? His power actually had SUBSTANCE to it, weight. It actually caught the Majin off guard... Didn't stop her from scowling at him, though.

"What do you WANT, kid? Aren't you going to the Tournament in West City?"

It was then that Rutaba would question who the immaculate individual was before him... and if she was STRONG. Liari opened her mouth to speak... then paused and looked over at Veylora. In truth... she hadn't even THOUGHT about scanning her power, so entranced had she been. Opening up her senses, Veylora's power was... DARK. Obscure... hard to even READ without focusing hard on it. She could tell that she WAS mighty but where that power ended... that wasn't certain... It was a darkness that rebuffed penitration, menaced those that would poke too deeply...

Exciting... AND Beautiful... AND mysterious?

Oh, she was in LOVE. Liari made no attempt to hide that particular expression either.

"She's... uh..." Liari's eyes widened. She realized she hadn't asked her name yet! Stupid... STUPID, LIARI! SO SO STUPID!

"I'm sorry... I didn't catch your name." She smiled, doing her best to display apology instead of the... taken-ness that was on display at that moment. "Mine is Majin Liari." She then jabbed a thumb at the kid. "That's Rutaba. He was going to a Tournament..." her voice arching harshly as she glared own at the kid, trying to get him to take the hint "...In one of the larger settlements just a ways from here. I was too but..." Liari blushed again. "...I found you more interesting."

Rutaba rocked back on his heels when the blue lady snapped at him, completely unfazed. If anything, it only made his grin spread wider. His tail flicked once, then twice, as he bounced lightly in place like he couldn’t stand still.

“The tournament?” he echoed, tilting his head before his eyes suddenly lit up. “Oh yeah—Papaya Island!” He straightened up fast, pointing off in a completely random direction. “I’m going there next!”

Then he paused, looking super serious for a second.

“…I wonder if they got food at the tournament.”

Right on cue, his stomach growled loudly. Rutaba glanced down, then nodded like that settled it. “Yeah, they better,” he muttered, totally convinced it was important.

A second later he snapped back into motion. He dropped into a loose stance and fired off a quick one-two punch into the air, followed by a sharp kick. He twisted mid-step, sliding a little before stopping and facing them again, energy buzzing around him tighter and more controlled than before.

“I was training,” he said, like that explained everything. “Gotta hit harder this time.” A flicker of blue ki sparked around his clenched fist, steady this time, before fading. “I’m gonna fight everybody there—strong people, fast people… doesn’t matter. I wanna see how far I can go.”

Then his attention snapped to Veylora.

He leaned forward, squinting at her like he was trying to figure her out. He took a couple little steps to the side, then the other, casually circling just enough to get a better look, his tail swaying faster behind him.

“…You feel weird,” he said bluntly.

He paused, then his grin crept back, sharper this time.

“…but strong weird.”

Rutaba pointed at her and glanced back at Liari. “She’s strong, right?”

His stance shifted again — lighter, ready, like he might jump in at any second. He bounced once on his toes, eyes flicking between the two of them, clearly way more interested now.

“So what are you two doing?” he asked, tilting his head. There was a brief pause before his grin widened into something eager and wild.

“…You fighting? Or are we all going to this tournament thing?”

His tail kept swaying behind him, giving him away completely. Either answer sounded good to him — but one definitely sounded more fun.

With the knowledge of the soon to be starting Tenkaichi Tournament being held in West city, the very same city he was currently in. Walking with his hands in his pockets for about ten minutes, he'd notice a large line, with someone quite familiar, the human female he had aid when battling Majin Liari. casually walking past the bystanders till he stood beside her without directly looking at her he spoke with a calm tone,
"Hey been a while, hope you've healed up well. So what is this about, some sort of fighting tournament?"
His words were that of confusion as he spent his life in the galactic patrol since planet cereal, and hadn't been on earth long enough to understand its customs. And though the people he cut in front of were grumbling minutes to half an hour passed where he stood before a punching machine. His head tilted in confusion as the numbers shown prior weren't astonishing some ranging around 80 to 100 max.
Eschals Mind: "I don't want to stand out too much... Maybe a love tap..."
His hands remaining in his pockets, Eschal suddenly struck his foot out, the tip of his sneakers lightly tapping the machine but due to his over all strength, even while holding back and suppressing himself the number was rising to 275. Causing him to let out a sigh of annoyance. He wanted to not stand out but now was a locked target for those present in the line.
Eschal's Mind: "Great so much for not standing out... Why is everything so impressionable..."
With the tournament guides guiding him to the waiting room he'd slowly enter leaning himself against the wall with clear view of the monitor screen for the tournament.

The stage was designed to levitated once the performance began all thanks to the technology of Capsule corps.

"I hope you aren't nervous Jiwoo, I know how much time you put into designing our dance routine. Cause I know I am. All these people are going to be watching us, and it'll be televised world wide."
Ai giggled a friendly banter to who she calls her best friend. With around an hour or so left before the tournament begins and the performance of a life time starts...

Inugami continued flying with a bowl of dumplings in hand but now he sensed two familiar presences on the island of South City, so he booked it fast towards the location while placing a hand over the bowl. He would fly right above the people before looking down at them, getting a close look at them all before dropping down between Rutaba and Liari with a casual stance, plop a dumpling in his mouth, and give a long chew before swallowing. "Greetings, it's been a while since I last seen you two yahoos," he comments before turning to the demoness before him "And my apologies, ma'am, we don't know each other." he gives a courteous slight bow before raising to meet her eyes "I am Inugami, Disciple of the Eternal Flame and You are?"

Veylora let Liari talk without interrupting, her attention fixed on her in that same quiet, steady way. She watched the shift happen, not just the nerves, but the way Liari pushed through them anyway. When the question came, it earned the slightest pause.

“You think I do this often?”
1777121286513.png

Her tone stayed low and even, more curious than anything else. Her eyes dipped briefly, catching the movement of Liari’s hand before it ever reached her. She didn’t pull away or meet it, just watched, as if waiting to see what Liari would actually do.

Then the moment broke.

Veylora noticed it instantly, the way Liari dropped out of that space the second the boy arrived. Her attention shifted, slow and unbothered, settling on him instead.

“Weird,” she repeated under her breath.

She looked him over once, that was enough. Loud, restless, unrefined… but not weak.

“At least you can tell something’s off.”

When he kept talking, her interest didn’t follow him for long. Her gaze flicked back to Liari instead.

“That depends on her. She seemed like she wanted to say something before being interupted."

There was a faint weight behind that. then another presence dropped in, and Veylora didn’t move at all. If anything, she seemed even more still. Her eyes shifted to him next, taking in the bow, the tone, the difference.

“…You’re the only one here who bothered with manners.”

Almost like manners here surprised her.
1777121599620.png

“Veylora.”

That was all she offered, after that, her gaze moved between the three of them, slower now, taking in what the moment had turned into. It settled on Liari again last.

“…You draw attention.”

Her voice softened slightly, not quite a complaint, not quite approval.
1777121829638.png
Then her eyes drifted away again.

“…A tournament, eh? Can you show me?”

"Knock people dead with your looks, yes." The words spilled out of her mouth with no resistance or command at all, instinct leading the way in that exchange. Liari blinked, realized what she said, blushed harder... and finally decided silence was probably the BEST course of action less she be a LITTLE too honest with what she was really thought of Veylora.

THAT was when the boy arrived... along with the Majin trying everything short of THROWING HIM again to get him to take the hint. Apparently, he was too dense to kill, and too dense for anything short of the obvious to get through his skull.

"...Its actually at West City." The Majin grumbled, irritated at the boy's trademark enthusiasm. "They decided to hold it there for some reason." Rutaba would then throw some punches and kicks, trying to display his training... before commenting on Veylora's power. Liari said nothing... but she shared that observation... Looking at Veylora, it was basically blinding. like all the light was being siphoned away, making everything fuzzy. She was powerful... but there was really NO TELLING where that power ended... if it even HAD an ending. It was then, also, that the Majin was actually starting to pick upon Veylora's... style, her "je ne sais quoi" so to speak. Even lovestruck and distracted by this CHILD, the LIari noticed how... fractional, the woman's responses were, distant, perhaps, giving as little awya as possible. The expressions she offered the Majin, her closeness. as much as Liari treasured them, seemed to contrast with her verbal responses, giving nothing... and extracting everything.

Answers.
Information.
All dubiously toned as to not give anything away.
Liari found herself marveling at Veylora in a whole new way, her pink-glowing eyes growing a whole brighter shade once she figured it all out.

Oh, She was GOOD, this lady... A complete opposite way to how Liari conducted herself, to be sure, but that didn't stop it from working!

"Oh, I gotta know you better now..." Liari mouthed to herself, barely able to keep her voice from following. She needed to crack open that shell and find out what was inside... She just KNEW that if Veylora was this interesting on the outside, on the INSIDE, she was a wonder of the world or something. before Liari could press on to do just that, Inugami arrived, scarfing down some food!

And like that, the magic of the Majin's realization had snapped away again with another intruder.

"'Yahoo?'" Liari gunted, her eyes flicking between pink and red. "Yeah, well you can yipee and yahoo back to where you came from, fire-man. ...And take this punk-kid with you. I'm busy."

...Regardless, Inugami would introduce himself. Liari would groan. That meant he was sticking around, didn't it... UuuuuuUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH! What was WORSE was that the she ACKNOWLEDGED Inugami, even complimented him (maybe) on his MANNERS, such as they were! She couldn't believe it... She genuinely couldn't!

...But perhaps this was a good thing because the demoness would introduce herself for the first time... the name. HER name.

"Veylora..." Liari echoed softly, rolling it around in her mouth as if it were the sweetest chocolate. She knew her name... She knew her face... Now all she wanted was to know about her. As if sensing the Majin's overflowing interest, Veylora would comment on how the Majin seemed to attract attention. Liari smiled, despite herself.

"...Normally, that's a good thing." She admitted with a small shrug. "...I wish they had something better to do today, though."

It was then that Veylora would turn her attention back to the mention of a tournament. She seemed to show interest, asking to be shown.

IMMEDIATELY, the Majin would leap to attention.

"O-oh! Of course!" Liari declared, raising a hand! "I was gonna go there anyway!" She would then offer that hand to Veylora, an invitation for the Majin to "show her" where to go. IF she took it, Liari's face would light up RED like a chirstmas tree, drinking in every last bit of warmth, power, feeling of the Demon's hand in hers before flying off at a fast... but still casual-ish pace west-ish. If not, the Majin would be a little disappointed, her expression shifting to something more closely resembling a chastized dog before still leading in that direction.

...She made it a point NOT to volunteer to show Rutaba or Inugami the way. Punishment... for interrupting things far more important.

__________________________________________________________

When they got there, West City was lit up like nothing else. It seemed like every fighter in the world was here for this tournament, festivities of ALL KINDS decorating the city leading up to the tournament itself. Say what you will about humans, but they sure knew how to throw a party.

"I think it's still up for entry..." The Majin mused, guiding everyone down closer to the arena. "I think... I'll sign up. Come on! It'll be fun!" She would turn and smile at her... enterage... SPECIFICALLY VEYLORA, before ducking in for their test!

Yes, now there was a test. When she signed her name... as scribbles vaguely legible as one, she was put in a line that lead to a room with a BIG MACHINE that had a thick pad on it... a "punch machine" as it was explained to her. She had seen other people really lay into it, FULL STRENGTH and get numbers ranging from double to LOW triple digits.

...An interesting little initiation test. Very well.

"So, just punch it, right?" Liari asked the attendent, raising a fist.

"That's right. Hit it as hard as you can."

"Okay!" Liari reared back and SLAMMED her fist into the pad!

203!

The machine rattled slightly on it's legs, the pad rebounding violently against her fist. The attended gulped... and nodded.

"Congratulations. You qualify."

"Yay, me!" Liari would proclaim half-sarcastically... before being lead into a waiting room... Where she saw Eschal!

"You!?" Liari growled, pointing at him. "Don't you have parking tickets to hand out or something? Why are YOU here? First the kid, then the Fireman, and now YOU too? I can't catch a break today..."
