Backstory
In an alternate branch of Universe 7, long before the collapse of converging timelines and fractured realities, two children were born beneath the roar of a violent thunderstorm over Earth. Twins separated by only a single minute, Celius and Mazu Aoi entered the world together, though that single minute would eventually become the invisible divide that shaped the entirety of their lives. From the very beginning, Mazu was abnormal. Even as an infant, there was something deeply unnatural about the speed at which he learned and adapted. By the time most children struggled to walk, Mazu had already begun dismantling machinery simply to understand how it functioned. His awareness bordered on unsettling, and his mind consumed information at a rate no ordinary human child should have been capable of. Their parents, both renowned intellectuals within their respective fields, quickly became enamored with Mazu’s limitless potential. Every achievement, every discovery, and every glimpse of brilliance only deepened their fascination with him while simultaneously widening the distance between the brothers.
Celius, by contrast, had been born painfully ordinary. There was no monstrous aptitude within him, no impossible intelligence, and no natural mastery over ki. Where Mazu advanced effortlessly, Celius was forced to claw his way upward through sheer effort alone. While his younger brother buried himself within laboratories, books, and scientific theory, Celius devoted every waking moment toward physical mastery. He trained obsessively, pushing his body far beyond what any child should have endured simply to remain beside his brother rather than behind him. Bruised knuckles, torn muscles, exhaustion, and failure became constants within his life, but so too did persistence. At first, the rivalry between them was simple enough, childish desires for recognition, validation, and attention beneath the same roof. Yet as they grew older, that rivalry slowly evolved into something far more dangerous than resentment. It became ideological where Mazu instinctively surpassed every obstacle, Celius shattered himself against them repeatedly until he adapted through sheer force of will. Mazu viewed power as a tool for progress - something meant to elevate civilization, understanding, and evolution. He believed intelligence was the highest form of strength, and that true power came from transcending violence altogether, Celius though Despised that belief, Because from Celius’ perspective, intelligence alone had never protected anyone. The universe did not reward kindness, nor fairness, nor ideals. It rewarded dominance, only the strong dictated history while the weak rationalized their suffering through philosophy and morality. The Fracture Between Brothers
By the age of eight, Mazu’s life accelerated beyond ordinary human comprehension. After stealing both a martial arts tome and one of Master Roshi’s bizarre techno-romance novels, he became fascinated by the relationship between science and combat. Inspired by the legends surrounding Master Mutaito, Mazu pursued knowledge with obsessive intensity. Academic institutions became little more than obstacles for him to surpass. He tore through primary education with unnatural speed before graduating college while still barely considered a child. Later, he would continue his development beneath some of the greatest scientific and martial minds available, including Dr. Hedo, Dr. Flappe, Dr. Voomi, and even his own uncle, Tien Shinhan.
While Mazu sharpened his mind through science and innovation, Celius wandered down a far darker path. Unable to rival his brother intellectually, he forged a different weapon entirely: adaptation through combat. He approached warfare with the same obsessive discipline Mazu applied toward scientific discovery. Celius studied battlefield psychology, anatomy, pressure points, emotional manipulation, survival instinct, and tactical warfare. Rather than relying on overwhelming force, he learned how to dismantle opponents stronger than himself through exploitation of hesitation, ego, fear, and exhaustion. Every defeat became a lesson. Every injury became refinement. Combat itself became his method of evolution.
Despite everything, the brothers still cared for one another in their own fractured and dysfunctional way. Yet every conversation between them eventually transformed into philosophical warfare disguised as family discussion. Mazu believed strength existed to protect humanity and guide it toward something greater than violence. Celius believed protection meant nothing without the power necessary to enforce it. Though born together, the two brothers had become entirely different answers to the same question, each viewing the nature of strength through irreconcilably different perspectives.

The Splitting of Brothers
The breaking point between the Aoi brothers did not come suddenly, nor was it born from a single moment of hatred. It was the inevitable collapse of years spent walking opposing paths while pretending they still led toward the same destination. What began as rivalry eventually rotted into conflict, and conflict into tragedy. Somewhere amidst that fracture came the death of their parents- a catastrophe neither brother would ever speak of openly again. Whether it was fate, circumstance, or the consequence of two growing forces colliding against one another, the result remained the same: the Aoi family ceased to exist that day. In the aftermath, the brothers were torn apart completely. Mazu vanished without a trace, swallowed by circumstances so unclear that even centuries later his disappearance remained shrouded in uncertainty and rumor. Celius remembered only fragments after that point, broken visions, collapsing skies, the sensation of reality itself splintering apart around him before consciousness finally abandoned him entirely. When he awoke again, he found himself somewhere beyond mortal civilization altogether. The world of the Supreme Kais was unlike anything Celius had ever imagined. There were no cities, no wars, no noise born from the endless ambition of humanity. It was a solemn and ancient realm untouched by the corruption of mortal existence, suspended in an almost uncomfortable stillness. Yet beneath that tranquility existed something immense, an overwhelming pressure that seemed woven directly into the fabric of the world itself. It was there that Celius first encountered the Grand Supreme Kai, Ninjin.
Unlike the Kais spoken of throughout old legends, Ninjin possessed neither blind optimism nor detached indifference toward mortal life. He did not hate mortals, nor did he idolize them. Instead, he viewed them with an honesty most gods lacked the courage to embrace. Ninjin understood that every living being carried the capacity for compassion just as easily as they carried the capacity for cruelty. To him, evil was not something people were born as; it was something cultivated through fear, suffering, desperation, weakness, and the choices made beneath unbearable circumstances. Because of that belief, Ninjin carried a burden few divine beings were willing to shoulder themselves. He believed darkness had to be confronted before it consumed entire worlds, even if doing so demanded sacrifices that would stain his own soul in the process. When Ninjin found Celius, he did not see a future conqueror or a weapon to mold for divine purpose. What he saw instead was a child balanced precariously between two possible futures. One path led toward becoming a protector forged through hardship and conviction. The other led toward something far more dangerous, a man whose suffering would eventually consume not only himself, but everyone around him. Celius had been left broken by loss, hollowed out by anger, and abandoned within the ruins of everything he had ever known, yet even then there remained something within him that refused to die. Resolve. An unwillingness to bend regardless of how much the universe demanded from him. So Ninjin offered him a choice: Not Salvation, Nor was it Forgiveness, Nor was it comfort. But rather it was a purpose.
A reason to take that endless anger, ambition, and pain festering within him and shape it into something greater rather than allowing it to rot into destruction. And though Celius did not fully understand it at the time, that moment beneath the gaze of the Grand Supreme Kai would become the true beginning of the man he was destined to become.

And though Celius did not fully understand it at the time, that moment beneath the gaze of the Grand Supreme Kai would become the true beginning of the man he was destined to become.
The Training Under Grand Supreme Kai Ninjin
Ninjin’s methods were never born from cruelty, no matter how monstrous they appeared to outsiders. Everything he put Celius through carried purpose behind it. The Grand Supreme Kai believed peace was fragile by nature, something that could not survive in the hands of the naïve or those too weak to defend it when darkness inevitably emerged. To Ninjin, a true protector was not someone untouched by suffering, but someone who understood it intimately enough to resist becoming consumed by it themselves. Strength without wisdom created tyrants, but morality without strength created martyrs. That belief became the foundation of Celius’ training.
The trials themselves went far beyond simple combat. Ninjin stripped Celius down to the absolute limits of both body and mind, forcing him to confront aspects of existence most mortals would never survive witnessing. There were periods where Celius was left starving for weeks at a time while being hunted by creatures born from the instability of the newly formed Prime Universe. It was never done to encourage savagery, but rather to force him into understanding desperation in its rawest form. Other trials were worse, Ninjin shattered his body repeatedly during training, only restoring him through divine ki moments before death could fully claim him. Through pain and restoration alike, Celius was taught just how fragile mortal life truly was. Within fractured dimensions where time itself moved irregularly, he fought blind, deafened, and isolated from certainty until instinct became sharper than conscious thought. At times, the spiritual pressure within those divine realms became so unbearable that lesser beings would have been crushed into dust merely by standing there, yet Ninjin forced Celius to endure it until he learned how to carry suffering without allowing it to break him completely.
And through all of it, Ninjin never abandoned him. When Celius screamed in anger, Ninjin listened. When his body collapsed beneath exhaustion, Ninjin carried him himself rather than allowing servants or lesser Kais to intervene. There were nights where Celius questioned why any of it was necessary, why strength demanded so much suffering in exchange, and Ninjin always answered with the same solemn honesty rather than false comfort. “Because evil does not wait for kindness to be ready.”
That lesson became one of the few constants throughout centuries of training. Ninjin taught him that power alone could never become justice, but justice without power was ultimately meaningless in the face of true evil. Unfortunately, Celius only absorbed part of what his master intended. Where Ninjin viewed strength as responsibility, Celius slowly began viewing strength itself as truth. Years of inferiority, resentment, and hardship twisted those teachings into something harsher than Ninjin ever desired. Over time, the desperate older brother who once struggled merely to keep pace with Mazu became something terrifyingly refined. Celius was not a prodigy like the Saiyans, nor did he possess limitless natural evolution gifted through biology. Everything he became was carved out through necessity. Adaptation became instinct. Pain became familiarity. Failure became fuel. Each defeat hardened him further until survival itself evolved into second nature. Ninjin had hoped suffering would forge wisdom and restraint within his student, yet what ultimately emerged was conviction sharpened to a dangerous edge.
While Mazu pursued transcendence through science, cybernetics, and bio-engineering, eventually surpassing humanity altogether through artificial evolution, Celius sought transcendence through endurance, sacrifice, and relentless hardship. Though the brothers walked entirely different paths, both were chasing the same answer in the end: what it truly meant to surpass mortality itself. Mazu sought to overcome limitation through evolution and intellect, while Celius sought to eradicate weakness through suffering and discipline. As centuries passed, Ninjin began watching his student with quiet concern, realizing the line between determination and obsession was becoming thinner with every passing year.

The Philosophy of Celius
By the time Celius finally returned to the reconstructed Prime Universe, there was very little of the person he once was remaining beneath the surface. Centuries spent surviving fractured timelines, enduring the unbearable weight of Ninjin’s teachings, and pursuing strength with almost self-destructive obsession had worn away whatever softness humanity once left within him. The man who returned was colder, sharper, and far more dangerous than the child who first arrived within the realm of the Kais. To Celius, his very existence had become proof that fate itself could be challenged. He had not been born gifted like Mazu. There was no impossible genius within him, no monstrous natural potential, no destiny carved out by the universe itself. Everything he became had been earned through suffering, discipline, sacrifice, and an unwillingness to break no matter how violently life attempted to crush him beneath its weight.
Over time, pain stopped being something Celius merely endured and instead became something he respected. Hardship stripped weakness away, Suffering exposed truth. In his eyes, a person only revealed who they truly were once everything comfortable had been taken from them. Yet somewhere along the way, he misunderstood the very philosophy Ninjin tried so desperately to instill within him. The Grand Supreme Kai endured suffering so others would never have to carry it themselves. Celius, however, gradually came to believe suffering itself was necessary, Necessary for growth, Necessary for evolution, Necessary for strength. Where Ninjin constantly feared becoming the same evil he fought against, Celius slowly began looking upon the universe with that same unforgiving judgment he once directed inward at himself alone. But Even then, beneath the conviction, the anger, and the overwhelming power he spent centuries cultivating, there remained one truth he could never escape no matter how far he evolved beyond the person he used to be. Mazu Aoi; Every scar across his body, Every lesson carved into instinct, Every battle survived. Every obsession driving him forward. All of it traced back to his younger brother.
Not because Mazu had ever tried to hurt him, but because he never needed to. Simply existing as everything Celius could never naturally become was enough. Mazu possessed brilliance effortlessly while Celius bled for every fragment of strength he obtained. Mazu evolved naturally while Celius was forced to drag himself upward through pain, failure, and relentless perseverance just to remain within sight of the same horizon. In many ways, the person Celius became was forged entirely in response to his brother’s existence. And despite the centuries, despite the wars, despite transcending mortality itself through sheer force of will, the desire buried deepest within Celius never truly changed from what it had been when they were children. He wanted to stand before Mazu Aoi not as the overlooked elder brother standing in his shadow…but as someone undeniably stronger. So now Celius continues his training and duty as the Grand Supreme Kai's Bodyguard upon the realm of the gods, the world of Kai's until the day he can stand beside his brother not as the lesser elder brother but someone who worked his way to being the personification of Undeniable Strength and Power.
